Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Vinrack ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please don't use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Vinrack, since the App is intended to help with vehicle purchasing decisions. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. What Vinrack Is

Vinrack is a vehicle verification app for iOS and Android. You paste a used-car listing link or a VIN, and the App assembles a report from public and licensed sources: open recalls, crash-test ratings, owner complaints, fuel economy, where the asking price sits against comparable active listings, and a score for the selling dealer computed from published reviews. An optional paid dossier adds deeper market data. Your account and check history are stored in Vinrack's backend (Firebase).

4. Informational Only, Not an Inspection or Purchase Advice

Everything in a Vinrack report is informational, assembled from third-party and government sources that may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. A report is notan inspection, an appraisal, a title or ownership history check, a guarantee of a vehicle's condition or safety, and not financial, legal, or purchasing advice. In particular, Vinrack does not tell you whether a vehicle has a salvage, flood, or rebuilt title, or whether its odometer has been altered. Always have a vehicle inspected, verify its history and paperwork independently, and do your own due diligence before buying. You are solely responsible for any purchase decision.

5. Dealer Scores

A dealer score is a weighted arithmetic average of publicly published review ratingscollected from third-party platforms, shown alongside the sources and review counts used to compute it. It is a summary of what other people have already published, not a statement of fact about a dealership, not an accusation, not an endorsement, and not our opinion of anyone's business. Ratings change, sources may be incomplete, and a dealership with few reviews may not be represented fairly by any average. If you are a dealer and believe the data shown about your business is inaccurate, write to us and we will look at it.

6. Vehicle Listings & Third-Party Data

Listings, prices, specifications, and dealer information shown in Vinrack originate from third parties and government APIs. We do not own the vehicles, set their prices, or control their availability or accuracy, and a listing may be sold, changed, or removed at any time. Vinrack is not a party to any transaction between you and a dealer or seller, and is not responsible for their conduct, representations, or the vehicles themselves.

7. The In-App Assistant

The App includes an assistant powered by a third-party large language model (OpenAI). Its answers are generated text and can be incomplete or wrong. Treat them as a starting point for your own checks, never as professional advice, and verify anything that would change a buying decision.

8. Your Account

You sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure. You can add a Face ID / biometric app lock, and you can delete your account at any time from the app's settings.

10. Subscriptions & Billing

Vinrack offers auto-renewing subscriptions and one-off paid reports sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play and managed via RevenueCat. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it at any time from your App Store or Google Play account settings. Prices may vary by region, and refunds are handled by the respective store under their policies.

11. Intellectual Property

The App's code, design, copy, brand, and its scoring methodology are the property of the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal use. Underlying data remains the property of its respective sources.

Your use of these services is governed by their own terms.

13. Privacy

Your use of Vinrack is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or the accuracy, completeness, currency, or availability of any recall notice, safety rating, price comparison, dealer score, or other report content.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vinrack and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including any vehicle purchase decision made based on a report, price comparison, or dealer score shown in the App.

16. Modifications

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. You can terminate at any time by deleting your account.
