Quick help

The fastest path through Hogit's main features. If you can't find what you need here, scroll on to the FAQ or just email.

Getting started

Download Hogit from the App Store or Google Play, then add your PostHog host (US Cloud, EU Cloud, or self-hosted) and a personal API key. Hogit connects directly to your instance, no middleman.

API key & security

Your API key lives in your device's native encrypted keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and is never sent to our servers. Remove it anytime by deleting the instance in Settings.

Multiple instances

Hogit Pro lets you manage several PostHog instances and projects from one app. Switch between them from the instance selector at any time.

Live dashboard

The home screen shows event counts, active users, sessions, and page views with sparkline trends. Pull to refresh, or pin a metric to the home-screen widget.

Error tracking

Browse error groups from your instance in real time, see how often each fires, and stay on top of regressions from anywhere.

App lock

Turn on an optional PIN and Face ID / fingerprint lock from Settings. Your PIN is stored only as a salted hash; biometrics are handled by your device's OS.

Subscriptions & billing

Hogit Pro is billed through the App Store or Google Play (yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase). Manage or cancel from your device's subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.

Data & privacy

Your PostHog data never touches our servers. Remove an instance to delete its API key, PIN, cached data, and instance info from your device immediately.

Frequently asked questions

Which PostHog instances are supported?+

Any PostHog instance that exposes the API: PostHog Cloud (US or EU) or your own self-hosted deployment. You point Hogit at your host URL and provide a personal API key. We recommend keeping your instance up to date for the best experience.

Where do I get a personal API key?+

In PostHog, open your account settings and create a Personal API key with permission to read the data you want to see (projects, insights, events, error tracking, persons). Paste it into Hogit when you add the instance. The key is stored only in your device keychain.

Does Hogit store my analytics data?+

No. Hogit fetches data directly from your PostHog instance to your device and caches it locally only. We never proxy, relay, or store your analytics, events, insights, error groups, or person data on our servers.

Is my API key safe?+

Yes. It is stored exclusively in your device's native encrypted keychain (Expo Secure Store, backed by iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and is never written to logs, crash reports, or any unencrypted location, never synced to other devices, and never sent to Hogit, RevenueCat, or any third party. It is attached to each request on-device at call time.

Can I connect multiple PostHog instances?+

Yes. Hogit Pro lets you manage multiple instances and projects from a single app. Switch between them from the instance selector.

What does Hogit Pro cost?+

Hogit Pro is sold as a recurring yearly subscription, with a one-time lifetime purchase also available. Both unlock the full app, including multi-instance support. Apple and Google set local pricing, so the exact amount may vary by country.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?+

On iOS, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google.

I can't connect to my PostHog instance.+

Check that your host URL is correct and reachable from your network, and that your personal API key has the right permissions. If you self-host behind a firewall or VPN, make sure the API is reachable from your phone's network. Still stuck? Email support@moetalaat.com.

Does Hogit track me?+

No cross-app or cross-site tracking, no advertising identifier, no session recording. The app sends anonymous usage and error events to a PostHog project we run, keyed to an anonymous identifier, purely to fix bugs and understand which screens get used. None of your PostHog instance data is ever included.

How do I delete my data?+

Remove an instance from Settings. Hogit immediately deletes that instance's API key from the keychain, its PIN salt and hash, all cached data, and all local instance information. The process is immediate and irreversible.

Is there a home-screen widget?+

Yes. You can pin a key metric to your home screen, and the widget refreshes in the background so the number is current before you even open the app.
